ITALY Readers's Tips - I share your concerns about email I get so much spam where the subject line contains excerpts from emails I had sent, certain key words that can only have been lifted from inside my own emails, that I know email is an open book that any miscreant can read if s/he knows how, and they do. But fax is different it goes from your machine over the phone lines to their machine. Now if the fax with your cc nr.n it is floating around the hotel reception after they receive it, it is no different than the notepad on which a person scribbles the numbers when you talk to them. Sure, someone unauthorized could get a glance of it, but your credit company only holds you liable for the first 50 bucks or so (maybe not even that if unauthorized charges show up. So I use fax or phone, much in preference to email. Don't know if that makes you feel any better.

You also could tell them in an email that you will send the number in two separate emails.alf the number in one and half in the second.ot the best idea, but if they require an email cc number, then this would work. I feel comfortable faxing the cc number.ut, my concern is dialing the correct number. had a really difficult time just trying to call one of the hotels, it either just rang and rang or I kept getting a residence.fter several emails back and forth with the hotel asking how to dial the number, which changed slightly each time I recieved an email, I got thru.o after that experience I have no faith in my dialing or faxing ability...who knows where that will end up.

I'm hoping someone can help me plan a week in Naples andamp; the Amalfi Coast.y family andamp; I are travelling in Oct.nd we are planning on going to Naples first, stay 2 days then Capri, stay overnight then on to Sorrento, Positano and/or Ravello, then back to Rome.e already have hotels booked for Naples andamp; Capri; however, I'm not quite sure how the Amalfi part should be handled.o we stay in Sorrento and go back and forth from there or is there a better way to do this trip Help
