ITALY Readers's Tips -
I posted a reply to your identical posting on the Austria board.ook at the map it makes no sense to go from Salzburg to Vienna and back along the same route to Salzburg for what To pick up some luggage you could have taken with you in the first place Take your stuff from Vienna to Salzburg, leave anything you don't need in Salzburg at the Salzburg train station at the luggage service, and when you have had enough of Salzburg, keep going in the direction of Venice.aves you a day of your vacation time.
And as I said, you shouldn't have so much luggage that going to and from a train station is an inconvenience, because if you have that much stuff,
everything about your tripand32; will be an inconvenience.
Hi I am looking for itenerary ideas for a honeymoon in Italy, I know we want to go to a wine region and beach.ny suggestions
Some other ideas os interests would be good, however some initial thoughts.
The traditionally great wines are inland (Brunello and Barolo.nless a pool is an acceptable alternative, then these can be counted out.
Sicily sounds like it might have good prospects, with good beaches, but also a recently resurgent wine industry.ry Donnafugata as a good start on the wines.lso look out for the local Malvasia (Hauner are good
Puglia should be good (great at value, though few really prestige wines to date, though the beaches we saw didn't inspire.
Tuscany is fantastic for wines and perhaps the Tuscan coast would allow you to taste the wines of Bolgheri on the Etruscan coast or Grosseto and Maremma to the South.oth are very impressive (does Sassicaia appeal that's down there, however I've no idea whether there are good beaches on the nearby coast.
However, and this might influence your choice, there is great Italian wine pretty much everywhere.very town will usually have a wine bar, larger ones may have many.he standard of wine you can get by the glass is impressive and by the bottle even more so.he food served in these places has for us (so far been exceptionally tasty (generally on the light size on portions, but with tremendous flavour.
For instance Amalfi has a great wine bar in an old monastery up above the main street.here are about 3 good wine shops there and others in Ravello, Minori, etc.here's also a decent winery in Furore (Marisa Cuomo along with more strightforward local wines.asting local wine with local food, you can often see how they've evolved together.
I hope this helps Italian wine is a vast field and it's great chipping away at the edges of it
regards
Ian
We are going to Italy for our honeymoon too and wine is definitely one of our priorities. We plan to spend at least one day with a tour guide in Tuscany visiting wineries, etc.
How long are you going for and at what time of year If you have enough time, why not break up the trip with a few days in Tuscany and a few on the Coast or in Sicily.
