We are flying into Venice in October and after a few days in Venice will be picking up a car and driving throughout Tuscany for five days.Next we will be spending the last few days of our trip in Rome.Can anyone recommend the best place for a drop off point for our car before our stay in Rome.There are so many rental offices in the Rome area I don't know which to choose.Thank you in advance for your help.Bfrac

Several people on this board have suggested dropping cars off in Orvieto and then taking the train into Rome to avoid the traffic.If you'd prefer a location actually in Rome, we dropped our rental off at a underground parking garage next the Borghese gardens, Via del Galoppatoio 33.It was just a short cab ride to our hotel near the Pantheon.For what it's worth, we came in midday on a weekday and traffic wasn't a big deal, but you have to keep your eyes peeled for the garage entrance and rental car sign; ours was Hertz. PS Dropping off in Orvieto gives you an excuse to explore this very charming city.
