Bev, Suzy is correct.ake sure that you know what your PIN is only using numbers.There are no letters on the Itailan ATM keyboards. Also be aware that Italian ATM's will only withdraw money from a checking account.You cannot take money from your savings account like you can in the US. The info given by Suzy and Gerry is on the mark. Also, you're best to get a Visa Checkcard ATM card if you don't already have one. My ATM card has the VISA logo, and my wife's does not.y card was Never turned down at any ATM we tried, we had to be a little more selective when using my wife's card. The ATMs in Italy did not charge any usage fees like you often see in the U. But my bank did charge a 1% conversion fee for all transactions and ATM withdrawals using the VISA checkcard in Italy. fh
