ITALY Readers's Tips - I haven't stayed in Cinque Terre in December but I know that my favorite hotel with its excellent restaurant, http://www.telmarinapiccola.m, is open through December.(I believe they close for a few weeks in January or February. A contemporary Bandamp;B in Manarola that I like very much, http://www.paiu.m, is open, too.t has a spectacular setting. Another fine place that offers Bandamp;B and apartment accommodations is http://www.ranin.m/default.pMainFilehome.p. I highly recommend all three places.ny of them should be able to help you. expect that many other restaurants are open. Also, the beauty of staying in the Cinque Terre is that you can hop on the train and go to one of the other towns for dinner and then return by train. Here is another website you might like to browse: http://www.nqueterre./.

I'm hoping someone can help me plan a week in Naples andamp; the Amalfi Coast.y family andamp; I are travelling in Oct.nd we are planning on going to Naples first, stay 2 days then Capri, stay overnight then on to Sorrento, Positano and/or Ravello, then back to Rome.e already have hotels booked for Naples andamp; Capri; however, I'm not quite sure how the Amalfi part should be handled.o we stay in Sorrento and go back and forth from there or is there a better way to do this trip Help Unless you're very happy living out of suitcases/packs, I'd always recommend setting a base to head out to other locations, rather than a constant process of checkin/checkout. Sorrento is a good base logistically (though it's not my favourite place on the coast.malfi is another good base point for ferries, buses, but not for the train. prefer it as a location and it's very handy for Ravello.onsider taking the bus up to Ravello and walk down (c.0 mins, via the old mule tracks.ippett guide gives directions, but it's basically downhill to Atrani (well worth a look andamp; good for a coffee, beer or snack after the walk, then a 1015 minute walk. (off the wall tip If you're the quiet reflective type, I'd recommend a short detour to the imposing mausoleum(sp above Amalfi/Atrani. found it quite a "spiritual" place, which showed a genuine love for the people buried there.t's not a tourist destination, and I hope it would never become one, as the sense of peace is it's great draw. Note some of the steps between Atrani and Amalfi are very steep, but the walk is not a long one. Hope you have a good trip Ian

my 29 year old daughter is going to a wedding in maiori the end of june.should she stay in maiori or amalfi any help would be well appreciated nicky
