ITALY Readers's Tips -
if you are in major cities that amount of funding will be gone rather quickly.you can eat modestly though it is increasingly difficult in the larger cities.whatever you do i would not travel with that amount of cash.atm's are plentiful.

It will be easier to do in Greece than in Italy, but it is possible.I suggest you plan on picnicking a lot and walking when possible. You can actually eat quite well if you buy your food from a local grocery or farmer's market. It's also less expensive to buy your drinks in a store rather than at a cafe. The hardest part is going to be fitting in museum costs. The more you want to visit museums, the more you're going to have to economize on food and drink.
I would also like to remind you of the current exchange rate. The dollar is not doing too hot against the Euro.ATMs were giving us 100 Euro for 125 this past month.
Hi L,
A lot depends on how much wine you drink and how much gelato you eat.
If breakfast is not included in your hotel fee, figure about 2. pp for a sweet roll and a cuppa.
If you want to eat out, go for the big meal at lunch.Prices are lower for a similar menu.
Lunch can be purchased from grcery stores and snack stands 510E pp.
Dinner can range from about 15E up.
Enjoy your visit.s>
