My wife and I are making our first trip to Italy (but 3rd trip to Europe in 3 years in May.Can anyone comment on our preliminary itinerary
Day 1 (Friday Arrive Venice AM; Visit St.ark’s Square (the square itself, Doge’s Palace, St.ark’s Basilica and the Frari Church; cruise the Grand Canal; Stay in Venice
Day 2 (Saturday – Leave Venice AM via train to Florence (3 hrs; Visit the Duomo and the Bargello; Stay in Florence
Day 3 (Sunday – Visit the Accademia and the Uffizi Gallery; Stay in Florence
Day 4 (Monday – Rent a car in Florence AM; Drive to Villa Vignamaggio for a wine tasting and tour (1hr; Drive to Siena (1 hr; Stay in Siena
Day 5 (Tuesday – Drive AM to Sorrento (5 hrs; Stay in Sorrento
Day 6 (Wednesday – Day trip via public transportation to Pompei and Positano; Stay in Sorrento

Sounds fine a good mix of strenuous and leisurely.ake sure you call a long time in advance, from home still, to reserve time slots for the Accademia and Uffizi in Florence do it as instructed on the official site of the Florence museums (click.
Personally it would be too much for me far too hectic.hy not remove the Sorrento part and spend more time in Tuscany.rop the hire car back from where you picked it up before getting the train to Rome.
I know it's your 1st trip, but you don't have to see everything, as the risk is you'll just see tourist destination after tourist destination and little of Italy itself.
If you're set on this agenda, then yes it's doable if manically hectic.
