ITALY Readers's Tips -
Patp,
Best wishes in obtaining others to go on the tour.If that's not possible, perhaps SelectItaly would be willing to schedule it if all five who have signed up for it are willing to share the additional cost.Because it's such a special event, you might consider that.I assume you'll have an English speaking guide, too, which I'm sure will enhance the experience.
We went on the Vasari Corridor tour a few years ago by scheduling it through the Uffizi Museum. However, the tours led in English during the time we would be in Florence were full.We went on one led in Italian. It was certainly worthwhile I loved crossing the Arno in that corridor above the Ponte Vecchio. And I loved looking down into the little church from the same place where the Medicis stood to participate in the service without mixing with the others in the pews below.
Best wishes with your plans
I'm new here and hope it's okay just to jump right in.
I am traveling to Italy in November for a professional conference in Rome for 10 days.I have decided to go a few days early by myself to spend some time in Tuscany. My current thinking is 3 nights in Florence, 2 nights in Siena.
Based on recommendations from Cheap Hotel Guide's "Italy from 90 a day" I was very interested in the Piccolo Hotel Etruria. But I haven't been able to find any recent feedback on it on this board or the Fodor's boards.I did read some on Fodor's from 2001 saying it was too noisy.I'd be very interested in hearing from anyone who has more recent experience there.Am also open to other suggestions of reasonably priced places to stay.(The Etruria is holding a single for 48 euro for me.I thought the Palazzo Brucchi looked good from their website but don't have any other reviews on it either.
Am looking for something safe and easily accessible (I will not be renting a car, preferably 80 euro or less.Without bathroom is fine, but I'd like a nice view.
Suggestions or feedback
Just wanted to update to say that I've decided, based on reviews I read on Trip Advisor, to stay at Palazzo Bruchi instead of Hotel Etruria, in a single with view for 80 euro. The single at the Etruria would've been only 48 euro, but I read too many bad reviews to choose to stay there.
I am confused.I noticed on a previous post the the address in Florence for Auto Europe was 5355 Via Borgognissanti but when I looked up the site on line I found it listed as 128 Borgo Ognissanti. What is it and how is the easiest way to find it to turn in our car
