ITALY Readers's Tips -
I just noticed that these might have been called off or postponed (there are dates under Revocato or Differito al.Can someone help confirm this please
Sammie, the best advice that I can give you is to simply call the airline and ask them 1 if you will be affected, 2 if they do affect you, what can they suggest in the way of reaccomodation
Their US contact number is 8002235730.They really will be the only people who can tell you whether or not the strikes will affect your travel.
sammie, I think that they have been changed or canceled on that website.
I'm fairly certain that 'Assistenti di volo' are the Flight Attendants.
These are the 3 websites I check but oddly the 1st two aren't in sync as they usually are, I rarely go to the 3rd one.
This website is in English with updated strike info and the easiest to use.ttp://www.ekitaly.m/news/fromroma.ml Clickon the 'Strikes, Demonstrations etc in Italy' link on the left.
Italian transportation strike website (in Italian http://www.frastrutturetrasporti./ clickon 'Calendario Scioperi Nazionali'.
This website lists *every possible* strike in Italy but the the vast majority of them won't effect us tourists (in Italian.ttp://www.mmissionegaranziasciopero./listascioperidata.p
Good Luck: and you'll probably have no problems.

I'm thinking of including Venice in our itinerary for our
Italian vacation next beginning of July.I know July is a
really busy month for tourism in Italy and from all the
guidebooks it just makes Venice sound crazy busy during
this time. Can someone report what it was like staying
there during this time What about the smell from the
canal I know Venice is supposed to be beautiful and I'm
sure it is, I just can't decide if it's worth our time or if we
should focus on spending our time elsewhere. We're
already in Rome for several days (which I had trouble
finding hotels already a year in advance, Florence for
three days, and then staing in a Tuscan villa for a few days
and just touring the area.If we left Venice out of our
itinerary, what would be a good alternative that might be a
little more lowkey and not as hectic that time of year I
just can't make up my mind what I want to do.We've been
to Italy once before and toured the Umbrian countryside at
that time so someplace new would be nice.
Decisions, Decisions.
