I have read some horror stories about driving along the coast roads from Naples to Positano.e are renting a car and have a hotel in Positano in mid Sept.ny advice or experiences Thanks. btbrown As long as you don't make the mistake of taking your car into or near central Naples, you are unlikely to encounter any nightmares.If for some reason you must pick up your car in Naples, then good nerves and a little experience are helpful.There is another discussion on the same general topic 'Why doesn't anyone want to drive the Amalfi Coast' that you may wish to take a look at. Traffic along the coast road can be heavy but not all day every day and depending on what time in September you are visiting, perhaps not at all.Be prepared for some traffic hassles but also look forward to driving one the most scenic roads anywhere.

Oh my God, we drove that road 3 years ago, it is one of the most scenic roads I've ever been on, but it's not for the faint of heart.talians are used to these roads, and drive extremely fast, but I never saw an accident, and we drove every day for a week.e thought taking the bus would be less stressful, but it was worse, you thought you were going over the edge of the cliffs.nyhow, you will love it, have a great time
