We are planning a our first trip to Rome arriving December 8, 2006 for 7 nights. We would also like to visit Florence and Venice but don't know how many nights to stay in each at that time of year.s 7 nights in Rome too long
Also, what should we expect weather wise in these cities
Caper Away,
I stayed at Hotel Davanzati on Via Porta Rossa in Firenze during January '05 and thought it was quite lovely.t is very centrally located, right near Piazza della Republicca.he hotel is run by a few generations of a lovely family. have seen good reviews of the hotel from this site and Trip Advisors.here is a flight of steep steps to go up before you reach the elevator to the hotel. If you go, you might want to ask for a room away from the front because there is a bar (Slowly a few doors down.

Have you read the guest reviews of Hotel Kristi on venere.m http://www.nere.m/hotel/index.phtid7763andamp;ref1217 I went there just to check the location which is pretty far from being central but read the reviews while there. It seems some of the rooms have shared bathrooms, and the hosts seem less than welcoming.WIW If you can find a place closer to the Pantheon/Piazza Navona, but still within your budget, I think you'd be better served.
Also, near the Pantheon, there's a market that seemed to serve the locals that might be a good source of foods for picnics in the piazzas.(If your back is to the Patheon, you'd take the side street that veers off to your right diagonally, past a gelateria.
