ITALY Readers's Tips - Our first trip to Italy included the Amalfi Coast in August 2003, the year of the killer heat wave in Europe.We chose August for a variety of reasons, one of which was packing less bulky clothes.Although it was hot, it wasn't unbearable (we live in Georgia, USA, though, and the thing my husband and I both noticed was the relative lack of humidity and no bugs.The evenings were definitely cooler but certainly not "cold". We were only in Amalfi one day but the attire was definitely resort/beach wear.

We've been to Florence (with day visits to Siena and SanGiminango and Rome (with a side visit to Sorrento and Pompeii.e love Italy and Venice is next on the list if we have 7 days, where else would you recommend.and yes, I'd go to Tuscany again.
