I understand that Cumpo Cosimo has an excellent reputation.Another restaurant in Ravello that has been highly recommended to me is Da Salvatore.In addition to its excellent food and reasonable prices, it has a superb location with a dining room and terrace facing the sea. In Venice, I would choose Vini da Gigio for one meal. For your plans for the Amalfi coast, note that there is no bus service between Sorrento and Positano and Amalfi after about 8 pm.You would need to use a taxi or a rental car to go far afield for dinner at least for the return trip. bump

Thanks to everyone on this board, especially andamp; Suzy Kane, I DID IT on Trenitalia Since I can do it, there is hope for everyone else Never did get my first password email I'm on AOL even though I removed the spam blocker may have been too late by the time I removed it.So I got a free email address on Yahoo (as suggested on this board, registered again, andamp; got my password via Yahoo. I even got my reservation confirmation (went ticketless on Yahoo. All is great with the world our trip to Italy world anyway I did go to Selectitaly as one poster did.They have an 800 .I called andamp; asked some questions.Basically, they cannot take reservation over phone; they refer to their website which transfers to railpass.So I figured since I was going to do it all alone online, I might as well go to trenitalia.The selectitaly charge was 20 total more (3 adults.They will/do not do ticketless. After I made the reservation on trenitalia, I immediately called my VISA company, talked to fraud dept.amp; they cleared the way for the charge to be accepted.I didn't want VISA to reject it because I live in US andamp; charge was from Italy. So, have round trip air, apartments in Venice andamp; Rome, train from Venice to Rome, thanks to suggestion we will water taxi from Marco Polo to Venice apartment, andamp; have applied for Necropolis tour at Vatican.Things have really come together andamp; could not have happened so well, without the folks on this board.
