The location of the Hermitage looks "okay" Florence is a pretty small town to get around in, but given that it's December, I'd want to be some place more central to the sites.(We were there last August when a cold front blew through and the 3 or 4 block walk back to our hotel from a restaurant was brutal.We stayed at Hotel Calzaiuoli on the street of the same name.It runs from the Duomo to Piazza Signoria.t makes most of the sites of Florence equidistant from the hotel.http://www.lzaiuoli./ We stayed the Hotel Montreal.t is 3 or 4 blocks from the train station towards down town.t is a 1*, but a very good one.reakfast was included for around 65 euro per night for 2 persons.heir posted rate is around 100 to 130 euro or more, but if you book on the web, you can get a 40% discount.See: hotelmontreal.m.he first 3 floors have an elevator, the next 3 are walkup, so ask for floors 1,2,3 if stairs are a problem.They close the doors at around 12:00 AM so be mindful of that.e had no problems as I am an old fodger, and was in bed by 10:00 at the latest.There is a restaurant about 1/2 a block from the hotel, between the hotel and the train station side that has 2fer lunches and dinners.ood was good, as was the service.enu's were in english also. I stayed at the Hermitage some years ago during a damp and chilly November.I got NO heat whatsoever, and I had to wear my winter coat in my room. I left after the second day of my planned week long stay and was lucky enough to find an available room at the Tornabuoni Beacci for the rest of the time where the heating was wonderful. Hopefully the Hermitage has become more generous with the heat if you decide to stay there.The location is excellent.
