ITALY Readers's Tips - I've looked for some information, and have only found a few comments from other travellers on other boards; it seems that, if your chosen hotel in old Sirmione has parking available, you can access it by car on day of arrival and the day of departure but parking may well be limited, and the hotel may charge. and you have to get past the policeman on duty at the gate to the old town (i.show your booking confirmation or something.uggest you email a hotel or two to confirm how it works.

Will be visiting the Amalfi Coast for a week, and in that week will probably do a day trip to Capri.ny opinions on which is better/more unique the Emerald Grotto in Amalfi, or the Blue Grotto in Capri. I suppose some might say they are a tourist trap, etc, but i think they look amazing.lso, it it something that you need reservations in advance for, or need to beat out long lines Hi, go to the Blue Grotto, the Emerald Grotto is indeed a tourist trap.

I can hold off asking this question no longer When I want to Italy (Florence 25 years ago, for breakfast each day, in the pensione where we stayed, we were served crusty bread, unsalted butter, marmalade, and our own pitcher of steamed fresh milk for the amazing coffee.This daily experience was one of the true highlights of the whole experience. Planning my trip which begins in a few weeks, searching for hotel recommendations and hotel websites, I hear over and over about "breakfast was a croissant". What is up with that Is this a pensione vs hotel issue, or has crusty bread and marmalade disappeared as the Italian breakfast
