ITALY Readers's Tips -
Hello how's everyone.
My fiancee and I are planning a honeymoon to Italy for 3 weeks.e would like to create an absolutely beautiful, romantic honeymoon visiting all of the best spots.f we could have an idea of an itinerary for the three weeks with the hotels to stay at and the number of days to stay at each place it would be greatly appreciated.e will be renting a care the entire time.hat we would like to do is spend our first week of 5 days on the amalfi coast.e want to splurge this week so we want to stay at the most beautiful hotel there is maybe the San Pietro Di Positano, Hotel Caruso (Ravello or Palazzo Sasso (Ravello.ther than the first week other destinations we will like to visit on our trip are: Rome, Tuscany, Lake Como and Garda, Tuscany (out in the country, Sicily, Calabria, Florence, Venice.asically around the whole country.o we need some ideas.
Thanks so much.
IMO you have much too much to see.'d aim for a week each in three different locations, or at a stretch 4 locations. think people are generally overinfluenced by the "grand tour" itineries of the travel groups and don't appreciate how painful travelling can be.ecide what's important and plan around them, with occasional day trips rather than a new town/city every couple of nights.
Anyway, after the lecture (sorry.
Where are you flying into Naples is best for Ravello, but not a massive airport so in all likelihood, you're probably looking at Milan or Rome.'d be tempted to choose Rome, as that's on your list.
For romance, Ravello is IT in my book.ou don't need to go as grand as Palazzo Sasso, but if you do I'm sure you'll enjoy it.onsider also Villa Cimbrone which IIRC has a handful of very upmarket apartments and will offer great relaxation.or excursions, you might want to limit yourself to Amalfi, whilst relaxing and enjoying the stunning views.ompeii is an option if you want to be very active though.
Assuming you're going in summer, I'd then head to Sicily by train (from Salerno or boat from Naples.owever if you also want to see Calabria, then driving down might be an option.llow a fair bit of time for this though.fter Ravello, this would be a great contrast and more true to the "real" southern Italy, but being able to speak a little Italian would be more than useful.
From Sicily, then flying from Palermo (or Catania makes sense.ossibly to Florence for Tuscany, the lakes, or to Venice.onsider an open jaw ticket to allow you to leave from a northern airport rather than trekking back down to Rome.
So my advice is choose 34 favourite destinations and plan around them.
oh and congratulations
Ian
Have you been to Italy before andamp; do you speak the language If so, then I assume you know your way around andamp; are aware of the traffic andamp; parking issues, andamp; also are not concerned with the possibility of having an accident andamp; spending your honeymoon untangling the mess, and neither you or your new spouse will "ruin the mood" whe
