ITALY Readers's Tips - Have you walked along the "passetto" between the Castel Sant'Angelo and the Vatican Also, the Castel Sant'Angelo itself has much to offer, including a terrace with lovely views and a small cafe. Here's a link to information about the passetto: http://www.ocities.m/mppollett/vatic12.m I believe the passetto is now open at limited times for tours.Perhaps other readers have done this and can tell you more about it.

I will be on my honeymoon first two weeks of July in Italy and we are travelling down the west coast.ly in to Milan then by train to Camogli then by train to Monterosso al Mare then by train to Rome and then by to Positano.his is where I need help. What is the best way to go from Rome to Positano Trenitalia does not have a line to Positano and I absolutely refuse to drive a car. will walk before I drive.hat's just how much I fear driving in unknown places.usband same way cause he'll drive off the cliff in frustration of listening to me. Can you get a train into one of the nearby towns You may be able to train into Naples and then catch a bus out to Positano.owever you are correct, driving on the Amalfi coast is NOT advisable for anyone who does not actually live there. suggest taking the train in as far as you can and then catching a bus or hiring a taxi for the rest of the way.'m not sure what other way you would do it except to fly, but it seems like that would be pointless from Rome, so close.nce you get there you can ferry in and out of Positano.

You need to take the train into Naples. At the Naples train station, go downstairs to the Circumvesuviana, which is the only train that takes you to Sorrento. From Sorrento, you can either take the bus or boat to Positano. You should leave Rome early, not wee hours, but early.
