ITALY Readers's Tips - We came back from our 1 week vacation.Thank you for all the information I got from this message board.I would like to share the information about the Artecard that we used.Maybe someone will find it useful for planning their future trip. In general I found it a very good bargain. We purchased the 3 days card for 25 euro each in Naples's train terminal which include the first 2 sties free and the other 50% off.We visted 3 sites with a average 11 euro per site. The card already paid for itself.Plus it inculde region transportations which can add up quickly. We stayed in Sorrento and used the card for the cumvesuviana railway free for the 3 days. The best thing is we didn't have to get on line to buy tickets and stamped them every time we took the train. We just validated it the first day of usage. One more thing is about children fare.We asked the information desk if our kids age 10 and 4 needed to buy the artecard for the sites and transportation. He told us the kids are free so we didn't buy the artecard for them. There were no troulbe using the transportation. However, when we visited the sites, the attendant said the 10 year old needed to pay but I just told them when I purchased the card, the person told me otherwise and then they just let us go. Hope this information is helpful.

Debbieh, this is VERY helpful, thank you I'm currently planning our trip to Italy in April (husband, myself and our 6yearold boy which will (probably include 3 days in Rome and 5 days in Positano., too, have been trying to find information about the Artecard.EALLY good news that it's free for kids Do you know if it's valid for the SITA buses too Debbie, I agree with Annika. This is very useful information.hank you.We recently returned from a 2week stay on the Amalfi coast. I didn't visit Naples but I did pick up the brochure, "Campania Artecard. The brochure states that the Artecard gives you use of the Alibus service from the Naples airport to the center of Naples. It also describes the free access to the first 2 sites visited and half price for the others "(access to the 5 Campi Flegrei areas is worth 1 entry. It doesn't describe the version of the card that allows free transportation throughout Campania. I went to the website and found the map showing the transport options, which includes the SITA bus route along the Amalfi coast.I see you can even go to Paestum, using this card. We did that on our trip (the train ticket from Salerno to Paestum cost 2.euros each way. There is so much to see in Naples and beyond; I can highly recommend a visit to Paestum. The Greek temples rivaled, if not surpassed, all that we saw in Sicily (Agrigento, Selinunte, and Segesta.

This is great information we were planning to get an artecard for our trip next week, but didn't quite know what "access" to transportation meant does that mean free does it mean discount, etc.Now that we know, we will definitely pick up this card as we plan to use public transport and
