ITALY Readers's Tips - Hi there.I spent 5 days in Ischia in April of 2003..am not too familiar with the names, but I know Capri is a short ferry away and there is a gorgeous castle there that you SHOULD NOT MISS.you cannot miss it, it is right at a point on the end of the island..her than that just enjoy walking around the gorgeous town and taking in the scenery

My family is from Ischia so we spent a wk.here tracing our roots.e island is of volcanic origin which resulted in the hot springs which make it famous.ny poets, artists, film makers and famous people spent time here for the beauty and solitude.lizabeth Taylor honeymooned here at the Regina Isabella. Spend time in Sant' Angelo in the Southern portion.t is a beautiful and quaint area on the water with lovely restaurants, shops and scenery. Go to a Thermal Spa and take a mineral or mud bath like the Europeans who flock to this island just for that luxury. Foria, where my family comes from, is an interesting town to walk around and take in the flavor of the people, the architecture, landscape,, beautiful water views, and ruins of different people who once settled there such as the Greeks and Normans. Visit the castle at the port, take a thermal bath, have lunch in Sant Angelo,walk around Foria then dine at one of its restaurants with unique island cuisine ( rabbit is a specialty here and you will want to return to spend more time on this lovely island that lacks the crowds and hype of nearby Capri.ext time also visit the less known sister island of Procida which you sail by as you take the hydrofoil to Ischia. Hi.I am going with my family to Rome in February.hat is the average temperature and what types of clothing should we expect to pack (I am guessing to take a winter coat, hat, gloves, and scarf but also prepare for some warmer days We've been there in December and April but never in February.
