While the Termini area is convenient for public transportation,it's far from charming. you'r only going to be there for a night or two,I'd recommend something near the Pantheon or Piazza Navona.ey are beautiful neighborhoods that are very walkable.don't know what you budget is,but Albergo del Senato has the best location in Rome,in my humble(ok,not so humble opion.
Just returned from a 12 day trip to Italy in which we spent 3 nights in Rome, which meant only 2 full days for sightseeing. We stayed at the Albergo del Senato right next to the Pantheon, which proved to be an ideal location to get to most of the main sights. It was a great value for money considering prices in Rome, and Salvatore the manager was an unbelievabably helpful resource for making the most of our short stay.
From the Pantheon you can walk only a few blocks to see sights like Trevi, Piazza Navona. You can also catch a local bus to the main sights of StPeter's and the Forum/Colosseum only a few blocks away.t's also a great restaurant district, so you don't have to go far after a long day of sightseeing to have a great local meal.o on the sidestreets off the Piazza Navona to find cheaper, less touristy restaurants that serve great, fresh local stuff. If Italians are eating there, you know it has to be good :
Good luck
I read on one of the travel sites (sorry, I've looked at sooo many that I don't remember which one that all foreign visitors to Italy are required to register with the Italian Police within 3 days of arrival.
Is this an "old" no longer required procedure, or true
On our last trip we were with Globus, so I suppose they registered for everyone.
If it is true, must we find a Police station or is there a simpler way
Also, I just registered us with the U. State Department. It's not required, but sounded like a good idea to me.Do you folks do that also
Thanks, Julie
